Sakuradani narrow-gauge railway

The Sakuradani Keiben Tetsudō ( Japanese. 桜 谷 軽 便 鉄 道 , dt. "Sakuradani narrow-gauge railway") is a private garden or park railway with a track width of 381 mm (15 inches ) in Toyono County of Osaka Prefecture in Japan .

The Sakuradani Narrow Gauge Railway is unique in Japan because it allows visitors to drive locomotives themselves just like a pioneer railway. The 130 m long stretch of the Minamiyama Line stops at the single-track Sakuradani train station ( 桜 谷 駅 , -eki ) and the double-track Kaze-no-Tōge train station ( 風 の 峠 駅 , -eki ). There are a total of 13 turnouts. An overhead line is used to power the electric locomotives and trams. The 50 m long lower line has no connection to the Minamiyama Line.

The railway is open to visitors on the first Sunday of each month. It was named after a mining company that used to be there.
