Salamines

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Salamine is a historical, monochrome, silk fabric made in different colors and belongs to the armor . The shimmering of the fabric caused by a special weave is characteristic.

weave

When weaving , the multiple warp threads made of deep black silk in a satin weave are shot through with double colored silk threads . This creates a fine pattern of diagonal knobs on the right side of the fabric.
