The Salient Rock (English, Spanish Roca Saliente , in each case translated “protruding rock”) is a cliff rock in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is the outermost of a series of rocks that surround the northeastern end of Robert Island and extend into Nelson Strait .
Your Spanish name was first recorded on a Chilean map from 1951. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 1964.
