Sallu (Bible)

Sallu ( Hebrew סַלּוּא sallû ' ) is the name of two people mentioned in the Bible .

Benjaminite

In 1 Chronicles is in the 9th chapter is reported that some families from the tribes of Judah , Benjamin , Ephraim and Manasseh after the Babylonian exile in Jerusalem lived. Some of the first two are named. The first named from the tribe of Benjamin is a Sallu, the son of Meshullam ( 1 Chr 9.7  EU ). These heads of families, including Sallu, are mentioned again in Nehemiah  11: 7  EU .

In Nehemia 12, 7  EU , a sallu is mentioned in a list of heads of priestly families who belonged to the first group of returnees from exile after the conquest of Babylon by the Persian king Cyrus in 539 BC. BC , belonged.
