The Salus Football Club , in short Salus FC , is a sports club from Montevideo in Uruguay . The club's soccer team plays in the top Uruguayan amateur division, the Segunda División B Amateur , in the 2014/15 season .

history

The association was founded on April 10, 1928. It is based in the Montevidean Barrio Nuevo París . In 1971, the club's soccer team won the championship in the Divisional Extra in the last year of its existence. In 1972 and 1977 the club became champions in the Segunda División Amateur . After the rise, the club's team ranked in the 1978 and 1979 seasons in 7th position in the table in Primera B , with an additional 6th place in 1979.

In 1996, the club finished in the third-highest division, known as the Division de Aficionados , in the first phase of the season, fourth and second in the second. Thus, you entered in the 1997 season in the Segunda División and ended this as well as the following season in 1998 in 11th place. Also in the following years they took part in the competition of the second highest Uruguayan professional league. In 1999 they won the Clausura , but then failed in the semi-finals for the championship to Juventud , the winner of the overall annual ranking. In the subsequent Liguilla for the other places of promotion in the Primera División they did not get beyond third place and thus remained second class. In 2000 you finished ninth in the year-end accounts. In November 2000, a temporary merger with Villa Teresa and Huracán del Paso de la Arena followed to form Alianza FC , which should take the place of Salus FC in the Segunda División. However, the merged club did not receive a game permit in the 2001 season because Villa Teresa and Salus FC had not paid off liabilities. He then joined the second highest professional league from 2002 to relegation at the end of the 2004 season. At the same time, a Salus FC team did not participate in any of the three top Uruguayan leagues. In 2005 the merger club dissolved again.

In 2011/12, the Montevideans - now again competing under the name Salus FC - reached 10th place in the final table in the Segunda Division Amateur. In 2013/14, Salus FC finished the Apertura in 7th place in the table. In the absence of qualification for the Liguilla, this position was also taken in the season-end ranking. After completing Apertura 2014, the club's team finished 9th.
