Salvador Cardús (born June 12, 1954 in Terrassa ) is a Spanish sociologist .

Career

He held a doctorate in economics. As a professor of sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona , he gave guest lectures at universities abroad. Its scientific merit deals with the sociology of religion, culture, media and national phenomena. The Catalans of the 20th Century is a value about the very successful Catalan integration model, a commissioned study for the IEM. His first book Plegar de viure (Stop living, 1981) is a study on suicide, which was followed by Saber el temps ( Sense of Time , 1985) and Política de paper (Papierpolitik, 1995) , among others . Other books are bestsellers: El desconcert de l'educació (Confusion in Education, 2000) and Ben educats (Well educated, 2003). As a regular contributor to various media, he was awarded the daily Avui prizes for journalism (1989), the National Prize for Journalism (1994) and the Serra-i-Morte Citizen Prize (1995).
