The Salzburger Bildungswerk is an adult education association in the state of Salzburg with its seat in the city of Salzburg . The sponsors are the state of Salzburg and the municipalities of the state. The activity extends across the entire federal state and, in the case of cross-border cooperation with similar institutions, to Austria and abroad. The Salzburger Bildungswerk is a non-partisan and non-denominational institution for adult education and pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes within the meaning of the Federal Tax Code. The Salzburger Bildungswerk is a member of the umbrella organization “ Ring Österreichischer Bildungswerke ”.

history

The educational institute was founded on September 13, 1956. In 1961 the first week of education took place in Goldegg ; In 1976 and 1985 the milestones 200th and 500th week of education in Salzburg followed.

In 1964 the series of the “Salzburg Singing Weeks” began. In 1980 the museum guide “Local museums in the state of Salzburg” was published, and in 1986 a revised and expanded edition of the “School manual for parents' representatives”. In 1992 the “School of Village and Urban Renewal” was attached to the Salzburg Educational Institute, which in 2003 was renamed “Community Development Salzburg”. In 2002 the Salzburger Bildungswerk published the dialect anthology " Salzburger Dialektmosaik ".

Tasks and offers

The Salzburger Bildungswerk is represented in around 115 municipalities with a local educational organization. A local educational agency, consisting of the educational agency management, the mayor as chairperson and voluntary employees, develops educational and cultural programs for the respective community on the following topics: community development, parenting, women's education, senior citizenship, political education, society and culture, Economy and sustainability, health issues or local history.

Every year around 1,500 offers are used by around 60,000 participants. The Salzburger Bildungswerk wants to encourage people to ask questions, to recognize problems and to work actively on solving them in the interests of the community.

The Salzburger Bildungswerk is headed by Dipl. Ing. Richard Breschar. The association is headed by a board and a board of trustees with LRin Mag. (FH) Andrea Klambauer as president.

Content focus

In addition to training and further education for volunteers, numerous courses, seminars, excursions, workshops, lectures, exhibitions and cultural events, the management of the Salzburger Bildungswerk offers local educational institutions above all advice and service.

In terms of content, the offers are aimed at communities, associations, parents, senior citizens, women, social officers and social support services, local chronicles and all Salzburg residents.

A selection:

  • The offers for communities include educational work support, social community development and generation village, educational workshops and educational weeks, family forum.
  • The club academy is a further education offer for all clubs in the state of Salzburg.
  • The offer for local chroniclers includes the chronicler seminar and the Pongau history platform.
  • The offers for parents include the parents 'letters, the parents' information sheet and parenting education.
  • Memory talks with contemporary witnesses.
  • Repair cafés: helping people to help themselves.

Focus on training week (training workshop)

Every year 10 to 15 of them are carried out with considerable success. Educational weeks are a "classic" in the offer of the Salzburger Bildungswerk. The training week is embedded in a medium-term project - the training workshop. This results in a demanding educational, content and organizational structure. In the approximately one year preparation period, the intensive involvement of as many groups and forces as possible in the community is sought. The training workshop is at least as important as the phase of the “visible” implementation of the week. The educational workshop and the often very dense offer during the week make the project an event for the entire population of a community.
