The former salt house is a large, functional building in Brugg in the canton of Aargau . It stands at the Hofstatt on the eastern edge of the old town, was built in 1732 and is a cultural asset of regional importance .

The salt house in Brugg is an elongated, powerful, three-storey functional building from 1732. The north-east facade is broken at an obtuse angle and provided with buttresses . The steep gable roof has dormers and a stepped southwest gable. The north-west facade is characterized by regularly distributed windows (nine-axis), as well as the round-arched central gate with basket-arched elevator openings above. The south-east facade is also a piece of the defensive wall and provided with 3 × 9 air slots. The arched gate on the eastern narrow side from 1618 comes from the older building.

Since 1995 there have been regular cultural events in the Salzhaus.
