Sammy Angott (born January 16, 1915 in Washington (Pennsylvania) as Samuel Engotti , † October 22, 1980 ) was an American lightweight boxer who won his most important title against Lew Jenkins (world lightweight champion).
Angott began boxing in 1935, winning fights against Davey Day , Lenny Mancini , Allie Stolz and Ike Williams , among others, and losing to Fritzie Zivic and Sugar Ray Robinson , among others , until he got 99 wins, 28 losses and 8 draws in August 1950 retired from his career and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1998.
