Lew Jenkins
Lew Jenkins (* 4. December 1916 in Milburn , Texas , USA as Verlin E. Jenkins ; † 30th October 1981 in Oakland , California , USA ) was an American boxer . On May 10, 1940, he won the lightweight world championship title by a knockout victory in round 3 against Lou Ambers . He held this belt until December of the following year.
In 1999, Jenkins was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame .
