The Samson Scan type was a series of three heavy lift ships from the Jansen shipyard in Leer .

details

The ships built in the years 1976-77 Samson scan , Hermes Scan and Mammoth scan was commissioned by the Danish shipping Blæsbjerg & Co. As the owner companies were in Aarhus Rederikommanditselskabet Bulk Tramp those Rederikommanditselskabet Supertrans and Heavy Trans K / S founded. After delivery, the ships were used for global heavy cargo transports. On January 2, 1981, the Mammoth Scan, the last built and most powerful ship of the trio , sank . The two remaining ships were sold in 1985 to the German heavy lift shipping company Schiffahrtkontor Altes Land (SAL). From 1989/90 both ships drove as a bard team and bride team for a Norwegian shipping company. The latter sank in early June 1991 on a journey from Xingang to Eregli in position 06 ° 04'N / 088 ° 51'E off the east coast of Sri Lanka, the remaining Bard team finally went on December 24, 1999 at position 06 ° 01'S / 78 ° 39'E lost.

The first two ships each had two Stülcken heavy lift gear with a load capacity of 150 tons each. The two heavy lift harnesses of the last ship built had a significantly increased load capacity of 250 tons each. In addition, all ships had a movable bulk lift DK70-10A9,5TG crane with a 10 tonne load capacity.
