Samuel ben Phoebus
Samuel ben Phöbus was a Talmudist in Szydłów and Fürth in the late 17th century .
Little is known about his life. He learned from R. Herschel in Cracow . Before 1691 he became a rabbi in Szydłów. From there he became a rabbi in Fürth in 1691. In 1694 he went back to Szydłów.
Samuel ben Phöbus was the author of several commentaries on the Talmud .
His daughter married Aaron Hart , the first Grand Rabbi of the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
