San Benedetto in Piscinula

San Benedetto in Piscinula is a Roman Catholic church in Trastevere , built in the XIII. Rione (district) of Rome .

The church in the piazza in Piscinula was built in the 11th century on the ruins of an ancient house (domus aniciorum) that belonged to the family of Benedict of Nursia .

The bell tower also dates from the 11th century. In the interior of the small church one of the oldest mosaics in the style of the Cosmats from the first half of the 12th century can be seen.

In 2003, the church was entrusted for use by the spiritual community of the Heralds of the Gospel (Evangelii Praecones; EP), an association under papal law.
