San Carlo , originally Aino is a village in the municipality Poschiavo in Poschiavo , in Graubünden ( Switzerland ).

The village lies on the valley road north of Poschiavo and, with the hamlets SOMAINO, Angeli Custodi, Percosta and Permunt for Squadra di Aino . Originally, one of the largest areas in the valley belonged to San Carlo, which reached as far as the Bernina Pass . One of the public tasks of the inner Contrada (district) of Poschiavo was the maintenance of the Bernina Pass road. The Catholic parish church of San Carlo Borromeo was built in 1613 in the post-Gothic-early Baroque style.

The San Carlo cheese cooperative was founded in 1930 and merged with the Poschiavo dairy in 2007 to form the Valposchiavo cheese cooperative . The cheese dairy has always been an important source of income for many families. It was an important part of the local economy during food rationing in World War II.
