San Clemente al Vomano

San Clemente al Vomano is a Romanesque church located near the Guardia Vomano fraction in the municipality of Notaresco in Abruzzo , Italy . The church was built in the first half of the 12th century and probably completed in 1158. Because of the hillside location, there were various static problems during the construction period and later.

The church is especially worth mentioning because of the ciborium made around 1150 by the masters Robertus and Nicodemus. There are clear echoes of Islamic architecture in the canopy.
