Jean-Claude Borelly (born July 2, 1953 ) is a French trumpeter . His most famous song is the Dolannes melody . His music was particularly successful in Europe , South America and Japan .

Career

At the age of seven, Jean-Claude Borelly discovered his passion for the trumpet when he saw Louis Armstrong on television. Borelly later trained with a trumpeter who was employed by the Paris Opera . In 1972 he became a professional musician and appeared in numerous Parisian cabarets .

Borelly's breakthrough came in 1975 with the single Dolannes melody . It reached number 1 on the singles charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In Germany she was number 1 for four weeks, in Austria also for four weeks and in Switzerland for 14 weeks. Later, however, he was no longer able to build on the great commercial success of this single, at least in German-speaking countries. The Dolannes melody was composed by Paul de Senneville and Olivier Toussaint and was the soundtrack for the film Un linceul n'a pas de poche (German title: A shroud has no pocket ). The song was nominated for a César in the category "Best Film Music" .

In 1976, Concerto de la Mer , the successor to the Dolannes melody , became another hit in France. From 1977 to 1984 he made tours in several countries (Germany, South America, Mexico and Japan). From 1985 to 1986 he performed every week with his orchestra, which has also accompanied him on his tours, on the program "Cadence 3" on the French television station France 3 . With an unusual show called "Trompette de feu" (Eng .: Trumpet of Fire) Borelly and his orchestra traveled through 60 French cities. In this show he combined his trumpet playing with fireworks and laser shows . The New York businessman Warner LeRoy offered Borelly an appearance in his restaurant "Tavern on the Green", which is located in Central Park , and he also offered him other appearances in many US cities (for example Miami , Boston , San Diego ' and Dallas ). Jean-Claude Borelly agreed. His success in the USA increased: From 1995 to 2000 he performed in Las Vegas . Even so, he was never able to place an album or a single on the US Billboard charts . In 2001 he played the score for the French comedy La Grosse émission . In 2002 he played the film music Comédie the Story for a French comedy . The next year he made the soundtrack for La Beuze (also a French comedy) with Michaël Youn . From June 2006 he went on tour again. The special thing about this tour was that he performed in churches and cathedrals in France. for example Amiens , Lourdes and Peronne . Various singers sang at the concerts, and Borelly accompanied them with his trumpet. They sang gospels , classical music and film music .
