San Diego Music Awards

The San Diego Music Awards has been held annually since 1991 to recognize the best artists in local music.

The first award organizer was San Diego CityBeat (formerly SLAMM), San Diego's largest music magazine. The San Diego Music Foundation is now hosting the San Diego Music Awards. The event is sponsored by local companies such as the Karl Strauss Brewing Company . Since the first event in 1991, prizes have been awarded in a wide variety of categories covering almost every style of music.

Several well-known artists such as Jason Mraz , Blink-182 and Switchfoot have performed at the San Diego Music Awards . But also rather unknown groups already play at the awards, such as Steve Poltz or Pierce the Veil .
