San Juan de Payara is a village in the Venezuelan state of Apure and the administrative seat of the Municipio Pedro Camejo district.
This settlement was founded in 1768 by the priest Jerónimo de Lucena. The first inhabitants were Indians of the Yaruros, Warao , Otomaks and Tarapitas.
