Sandbanks Provincial Park is a provincial park on the shores of Lake Ontario in Prince Edward County near Picton in the Canadian province of Ontario . It is known for its sand dunes and beaches. The provincial government has cleared various areas for recreation. Some parts of the coast were previously acquired for settlement. Nowadays the park is used for tourism, mostly by visitors from southern Ontario and the adjacent US state of New York .
