The dune-narrow-foot pouch mouse ( Sminthopsis psammophila ) is a species of marsupial mammal belonging to the genus of narrow-foot pouch mice , which is endemic to Australia .

Sminthopsis psammophila is one of the largest species of its genus with a total length of 110 to 128 millimeters, with 22 to 26 millimeters on the tail. The weight varies between 26 and 40 grams. The color of the fur on the back ranges from gray to yellow-brown, while the belly is white.

The distribution of this predator extends to four separate, arid areas. It occurs near Lake Amadeus in the Northern Territory , on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia , in the southwest of the Great Victoria Desert in Western Australia and in the Yellabinna sand dunes in South Australia.

The habitat is low sand dunes, especially near spinifex grass . The food consists of insects.

Sminthopsis psammophila is one of the rarest narrow-foot bag mice. The IUCN lists this species as "critically endangered" (endangered) .
