Sandro "Dino" Bertaggia (born May 7, 1964 in Zug ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player .

Career

Bertaggia started his career at EV Zug . In the 1980/81 season he celebrated his debut in the National League B with a converted penalty against Dübendorf. After relegation and subsequent promotion, he moved to the top division of HC Friborg-Gottéron in 1984 . In 1985 he moved to HC Lugano , where he stayed until the end of his career in 2003. He was six times Swiss champion, played in the 1991 Spengler Cup -Final, 1987 and 1991 in the European Cup Final and in 2000 in Top Four Final of the Euro Hockey League . He scored over 100 NLA goals.

With the Swiss national ice hockey team , Sandro Bertaggia took part in various world championships and completed a total of 152 international matches. At the B World Cup in 1990, in which the Swiss managed to return to the A group, he was named the best defender.

After the championship title in 2003, Sandro Bertaggio announced his resignation and from then on acted as team manager of HC Lugano. His long-time shirt number, the 2, has not been assigned by the HCL since then.
