Sansanne mango
Sansanné-Mango or Mango (formerly Sansane-Mangu ) is a city in the north of the African state of Togo . It is located in Savanes , the northernmost of the 5 Togolese regions and has around 41,464 inhabitants (2007). The place is at an altitude of 145 meters.
history
In the 1890s the place came under European colonial rule and became part of the German colony of Togo . In January 1895, Hans Gruner concluded a protection treaty with the head of Sansane-Mangu as part of the Togo hinterland expedition . In 1896 Ernst von Carnap-Quernheimb founded a research and administration station of the same name to control the surrounding district. The first station manager was Gaston Thierry . A telegraph and meteorological station followed by 1914 .
