Sant'Angela Merici

The titular church of Sant'Angela Merici is a Roman church on Via di Sant'Angela Merici in the Nomentano district .

The church was consecrated in 1967 and is dedicated to Saint Angela Merici .

architecture

The church is an octagonal red brick building with reinforced concrete ribs . A lantern towers over the roof , and a strip of glass runs under the cornice , which is only interrupted by the concrete supports. The main entrance is preceded by a short flight of stairs and is represented by the coat of arms of Pope Paul VI. and the dedication inscription crowned: “ DOM in hon. St. Angela Merici Angelae AD MCMLXVII ”.

Interior

The interior of the church is kept in simple forms. There is a side chapel with a crucifix and two paintings, one depicting the Lamentation of Christ and the other depicting the Last Supper .
