Santa Cruz is a small town in the Murcia region in southeastern Spain and belongs to the city of Murcia . The place is a Pedanía , i. H. a district without a mayor .
Its limits are:
- to the north: Cobatillas and El Esparragal
- to the east: El Raal and Alquerías
- to the west: Llano de Brujas
- in the south: Llano de Brujas and Los Ramos
2,651 people (2010) live there on an area of 4.2 km². The inhabitants live in two different population cores, Santa Cruz and San José Obrero. Santa Cruz is located in the valley of the Río Segura . The church was built in the 1950s and the Ermita Vieja in the 16th century. The place had its own mayor from 1821 to 1844. It has belonged to Murcia ever since.
