Santa Lucia Stroncone Observatory

The Santa Lucia Stroncone Observatory ( Osservatorio Astrometrico Santa Lucia Stroncone ) is an astronomical observatory in Stroncone in the Umbria region , about 6 km south of the city of Terni . It is registered with the IAU code 589. The astronomical coordinates are 42 ° 30 '55 "  N , 12 ° 38' 24"  O coordinates: 42 ° 30 '55 "  N , 12 ° 38' 24"  O .

The observatory is at an altitude of 350  m slm. It is equipped with a 500 mm Ritchey-Chrétien-Cassegrain telescope , along with several smaller telescopes, and is mainly used to discover asteroids . A total of 54 asteroids were discovered between 1993 and 1999.
