The Chapel or Church of Santa Maria della Febbre was a church in Rome that stood next to the ancient Constantinian basilica of Saint Peter. Originally the rotunda was an imperial mausoleum . When it was rededicated to a Christian church, it was consecrated to Mary , who here, in Christian reinterpretation of the goddess Febris , was venerated as a fever avender . Among other things, Pope Calixt III found. here his first resting place. Since the relics of the apostle Andrew were temporarily kept here, it was also called Sancti Andreae .

With the construction of St. Peter's Basilica , the building was initially used as a sacristy . In the late 18th century it was demolished for the construction of today's sacristy.

For this reason, only historical illustrations, drawings and sketches etc. a. obtained from Maarten van Heemskerck and Giovanni Battista Piranesi .
