Fred Bergmann

Fred Bergmann is a German dentist and author . His main focus is on the areas of periodontology and implantology .

Life

Bergmann passed his state examination in dentistry in 1986 at the University of Mainz . Until 1990 he trained as a dentist for oral surgery , among others at the University of Erlangen Nuremberg , oral and maxillofacial department, and at the polyclinic for dental surgery at the University of Mainz. He is a member of scientific associations such as the DGOI, DGI , Working Group for Orthodontic Surgery, DGZMK, German Society for Periodontology and BDiZ EDI; and member of the editorial offices and advisory boards of specialist journals such as Cosmetic Dentistry , DGOI Journal for oral implantology , PIP journal for practical implantology and implant prosthetics and the magazine for dental implantology and periodontology.

Bergmann has been a speaker in international courses for implantology, augmentation and periodontics since 1987 . In 1993 he opened his practice in Viernheim / Mannheim , where he now practices with eight other colleagues. The second practice location is in Heddesheim , Baden-Württemberg . Since 2004 Fred Bergmann has been the head of the implantology study group "Bergstrasse" of the German Society for Oral Implantology (DGOI) in Germany. In 2009 Bergmann became Vice President of the DGOI, in 2015 he was elected President of the Association and held this post for three years. He is certified in implantology and periodontology by the DGOI, the DGI , the State Dental Association of Hesse and the BDiZ EDI.

As part of his involvement in the DGOI, Bergmann is a training officer for postgraduate training in the DGOI's implantology curriculum. He also holds a visiting professorship at the University of Pretoria for periodontology, oral and maxillofacial surgery and a 3-year training authorization in the field of oral surgery from the State Dental Association of Hesse and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. Fred Bergmann's practice has been an academic teaching and research facility at the University of Frankfurt (MKG department) since 2017. He has been Past President of DGOI since 2018 and his practice is an academic teaching and research institution of the University of Digital Technology in Medicine and Dentistry, Luxembourg . He is also active as a speaker in the MSC DTMD master’s courses nationally and internationally. Since 2019 Bergmann has been Vice Dean for Asian Studies at the DTMD University of Luxembourg, Visiting Professor at the International University of Agadir (Universiapolis) and Honorary Member of the Ukrainian Scientific Dental School. Bergmann is also the scientific director of the DGOI Joint Curriculum for implantologists and oral surgeons.
