The oral surgery is a branch of dentistry , the "dental surgery including the treatment of dislocations and fractures in the field of dentistry and oral surgery (jaw fracture treatment) and the corresponding diagnostic " (pattern training Procedure (MWO) of the German Dental Association , § 14 (2 )) includes.

Oral surgery is one of the fields in dentistry (alongside orthodontics , periodontics and public health ) that licensed dentists have completed at least four years (MWO, § 2 (3)), full-time and full-time (MWO, § 3 (1)) training final exam can be acquired.
