Santa Maria la Major (Inca)
Santa Maria la Major is a Roman Catholic church in Inca on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Mallorca .

Architecture and history
The parish church was first mentioned in 1248. She belonged to the Knights Templar . Today's church is the third building and was only built in the 18th and 19th centuries. Century. The facade is made of Mallorcan sandstone and is designed in the Baroque style.
Inside the church there is a baptistery to the side of the entrance, with the panel painting Santa Maria la Major by Joan Daurer in 1373 . It is the oldest painting in Mallorca whose painter is known by name. In the chapel there is also a wooden winch from the original church, with which full-body baptisms of newborns could be carried out, a custom that was officially abolished as early as 1250.
