Sao (unit)

Sao was a Vietnamese measure of length. It corresponded to the European rod . The measure was different in the provinces. The Thuok (Theok, Tuok), a measure for field surveying and construction, fluctuated between 40.5 and 61.068 centimeters in the constellation with the length measure Gon (Quo). Depending on the Sao, the measure was 48.5 centimeters.

  • Annam 1 Sao = 15 Thuok = 7.275 meters
  • Other regions 1 Sao = 16 ½ Thuok = about 8 meters
