Sara Maria Forsberg (born May 2, 1994 in Jakobstad ) is a Finnish singer, songwriter, YouTuber and TV presenter. As a stage name she uses a stylized version of her first name "SAARA", but was previously also known as "Smo" and "Smokahontas".

In 2014 she started her music career with a recording contract with Capitol Records , in April 2015 her first single Ur Cool was released. The song became a top ten hit in Finland. After disagreements with the producers, she left the record company in early 2016. Forsberg has been producing her own CDs ever since.

Life

Sara Forsberg was born to a Finnish mother and a Finnish-speaking Swede . Her parents are Baptist missionaries, raised their child in this faith and often moved from one place to another. They lived u. a. in Texas and the UK until the family settled permanently in Finland when Sara was six years old. Saara was taught at a music academy in Jakobstad for a few years, followed by further training to become a cook, but is now concentrating on her music career.
