Sarah Wegener
Sarah Wegener is a German-British soprano.
Career
After studying music in school with a major in double bass , she studied singing with Bernhard Jaeger-Böhm at the Stuttgart University of Music and attended Cornelis Witthoefft's lied interpretation class . Masterclasses with Dame Gwyneth Jones and Renée Morloc complemented her education. In 2007 she won first prize at the International Max Reger Song Competition in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate.
She works closely with Georg Friedrich Haas . In 2011 she played the main role of Nadja in Georg Friedrich Haas' opera Bluthaus, a co-production of the Schwetzingen Festival and the Bonn Theater . For her portrayal of Nadja she was nominated "Singer of the Year" by Opernwelt magazine . She worked with the conductors Frieder Bernius and Michael Hofstetter .
