It is located in the northeastern part of the Salto Department in its sector 9 on Arroyo Sarandí del Arapey . Sarandí del Arapey is close to the northern border to the neighboring Artigas , a few kilometers south of the Cerro Vichaderos . The closest settlements are Fernández in the southwest and Masoller in the southeast.
