The Sarıyar Dam ( Turkish Sarıyar Barajı ; also Hasan Polatkan Barajı) is located on the Sakarya in northwestern Turkey .
It is 125 km west of Ankara on the provincial border between Eskişehir and Ankara . The dam was built as a 90 m (above the valley floor) high concrete gravity dam in the years 1951–1956. The wall volume is 568,000 m³. The 84 km² reservoir has a storage volume of 1900 million m³. The hydropower plant has four 40 MW Francis turbines . The normal energy capacity of the hydropower plant is 378 GWh per year. The Gökçekaya Dam is located downstream.
