Saryschagan (rocket launch site)

Saryschagan ( Kazakh Сарышаган , Russian Сары-Шаган , Sary-Shagan ) is a launch site for military missiles of the Russian missile forces in Kazakhstan near the settlement of Saryschagan . The test site is located northwest of Lake Balkhash in the hunger steppe in the areas of Karagandy and Shambyl . The missile test site with the administrative center in Priosjorsk has been in operation since 1958. The Terra-3 laser test center is also located on the site .
