Sasaki Yoshitsune

Sasaki Yoshitsune ( Japanese 佐 々 木 義 経 ; * 1000 ; † 1058 ), also Sasaki Noritsune , was a Japanese nobleman from the Heian period .

Life

Sasaki no Yoshitsune was born in 1000 as the eldest son of Minamoto no Nariyori ( 源 成 頼 ).

He was 58 years old and lived until 1058. Sasaki no Yoshitsune was Kugyō (nobleman) and Bushō (military commander) at the same time . From 1003 he was the second clan chief of the Sasaki ( 佐 々 木 ), his predecessor was his father Minamoto no Nariyori; after his death Sasaki Tsunekata ( 佐 々 木 経 方 ) followed him as the leader of the Sasaki.
