Sauštatar
Sauštatar (also Saušsata (t) tar etc.) was a king of Mittani in the second half of the 15th century BC. Chr.
Although Sauštatar is mentioned in several inscriptions from Alalaḫ , Tall Bazi and in the Šattiwazza Declaration , little is known about him. According to his seal, he was the son of the otherwise unknown King Parsatatar. From a campaign of conquest he led a door made of gold and silver from Aššur to his capital, Waššukanni, as booty .
His dominion extended over Alalaḫ to Cilicia , the then country of Kizzuwatna . He settled a dispute between his vassal kings Šunaššura of Kizzuwatna and Niqmepa of Alalaḫ. His seal was also used by his successors.
