The Saudi Electricity Company (abbreviated SEC or SECO ) is a Saudi Arabian power company based in Riyadh .

history

The company was founded in April 2000 by amalgamating all local electricity companies as a public company listed on the Tadawul All-Share Index . The owners are the state of Saudi Arabia with 74.31% and the oil production company Saudi Aramco with 6.93%; the rest of the shares are in free float .
