The Sauerbrunnen is an officially recognized mineral spring in the city center of Bad Soden am Taunus in the Main-Taunus district . The Sauerbrunnen is located in the old town of Soden in the street Zum Quellenpark .

history

The first mention of the fountain goes back to 1703. At that time, a wooden protective pavilion was built around the fountain.

The first edging of the fountain took place in 1859. At the beginning of the 20th century, the area around the fountain was provided with natural stones and planted. In 1922 the outside area was redesigned again. However, in the 1960s, the well was covered with soil due to contamination. It was not until 1993/94 that the fountain was reopened on the initiative of citizens of the city.

application

The water from the spring is mainly used for external use, especially for douching, inhalation and gargling. It is not suitable for drinking due to the high salt concentration.
