Rivière Matawin (also Mantawa or Mattawin ) is a right tributary of the Rivière Saint-Maurice in the administrative region of Mauricie in the Canadian province of Québec .
It has a length of 161 km and a catchment area of 5560 km².
It has its origin in the lake Lac Matawin . From there it flows first in a southerly direction and later in a north-easterly direction to the 95 km² reservoir Réservoir Taureau . This is formed by the Barrage Matawin dam . It flows another 60 km to the east and meets the Rivière Saint-Maurice 60 km south of La Tuque .
