Savary (airplane)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Savary biplane was a very early French aircraft design that was also used as a military aircraft .

The Savary company was one of the French aircraft manufacturers that built aircraft for the military even before the First World War . The Savary biplane, built from 1908 onwards, no longer used twisting of the wings, but ailerons. The arrangement of the rudders between the wings was also unusual. For the fuselage, the lattice tail construction common at the time was used. The propulsion system was based on the American Wright designs, with a motor located in the middle driving two propellers on the side.
