Savonranta

Until 2009 Savonranta was an independent municipality in the Eastern Finnish region of Savo .

It was formed in 1882 from parts of the Kerimäki and Heinävesi communities. On January 1, 2009, it was incorporated into the city of Savonlinna. The main town and parish of the municipality was Vuokala , and it also included the villages of Hanhijärvi, Hankavaara, Lapinlahti, Paasniemi, Pirttimäki, Säimen, Rönkönvaara, Turtianniemi and Leivola. Most recently Savonranta had around 1500 inhabitants.
