Stanisław Sylwester Szarzyński (* around 1670, † after 1713) was a Polish composer of the Baroque period .

Life

Little is known about the detailed living conditions of the Cistercian monk Szarzyński. Presumably he was connected to the collegiate church in Łowicz , where most of his works are kept. He was probably a distant relative of the poet Mikołaj Sęp Szarzyński and was born on the territory of the former Red Ruthenia , where the Szarzyński estate was located.

His compositions, which were written between 1692 and 1713, include a five-part mass and motets for voice. Violin and basso continuo , an Ave Regina , a four-part Completorium (final prayer ), a concerto for tenor, two violins, viola and organ, other concerts and a trio sonata have been handed down.
