The scàccia is a traditional dish of Sicilian cuisine . It is one of the snacks or appetizers .

The dish consists of a rectangular, thin layer of dough that is folded lengthways, filled differently depending on the region and baked in the oven. The Scàccia câ cipudda e ricotta with onions and ricotta is common .

The folded sheet of dough is filled along the long side and pressed together. The short sides reveal the various fillings and are only closed before baking.

The Scàccia is about 25 cm long and 10 cm wide. In bars, smaller variations of 15 cm in length and 8 cm in width are offered. These are Arancini enough.
