Scalable linear recording

Scalable Linear Recording ( SLR ) is a magnetic tape system of the German company Tandberg Data GmbH for backup ( Backup ) and archiving of data. SLR is a further development of the QIC storage media.

In the most powerful version, the SLR140 format , up to 70 GB of data can be saved uncompressed per tape at a data transfer rate of up to 6 MB / s. The lifespan of the tape depends on the format used and, according to the manufacturer Imation, is between 5,000 and 15,000 runs.
