The beautiful from Nordhausen is an old apple variety from Nordhausen . The apple originated there before 1850; it has been in business since 1882.
Variety characteristics
The sour, fine aromatic table apple is suitable for the home garden and as orchard. The tree is unsuitable for damp locations. It is still widespread, especially in central Germany. After the war, it was known as the 'Hindenburg' as an allegedly new foundling. The apple is ripe for picking in October and can be stored in the cool cellar from November to April. The variety is considered a good pollen donor.
