history
Schönherr was founded in 1950 by the lawyer and university professor Fritz Schönherr and in the 1990s was one of the first law firms to begin expanding into Central and Southeastern Europe. In 1996 Schönherr opened the first office in Bucharest, followed by Sofia (2004), Budapest (2008), Prague (2009), Warsaw (2009), Bratislava (2009), Chișinău (2009), Istanbul (2013) and Podgorica (2016) . The law firm also has so called country desks in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia and Ukraine. In addition, Schönherr has had permanent cooperation partnerships in Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia since the early 2000s.
As the firm grew in size, the name also changed temporarily when new partners were added. Today the company is called "Schönherr" again.
