Schürenbrink Chapel

The Schürenbrink Chapel , also known as St. Josef Chapel , is a listed church building in Ostenfelde , a district of Ennigerloh , in the Warendorf district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The chapel was built in 1862 according to plans by Emil von Manger . Stones from the previous church, which was demolished in 1862, were used as building material. The clients were Baron Clemens August von Nagel-Doornick and Maria Johanna Huberta Countess Stolberg zu Stolberg from the Westheim family. The building is reminiscent of the old church that was built at the end of the 12th century. On the inside of the altarpiece, St. Joseph is shown with Jesus on his arm. The Bose family had long owned one chalice and returned it to the chapel. An engraving in the bottom of the chalice reads: belongs to the chapel at the Schürenbrink, to Saint Joseph .
