The Schüttkasten was a former grain box ( Schüttkasten ), later a residential building in the village of Weißenbach an der Enns , municipality of Sankt Gallen (Styria) in the Liezen district in Styria . He was a listed building. In November 2018 it was canceled.

history

This grain box was built in 1625 after the establishment of the Innerberg main trade union . In addition to this, of the buildings that still exist today, the main building (today's doctor's house), a lard cellar (today the building is a privately owned residential building) and a barn were also included. Alexander v. Peez, the founder of the cellulose factory in Weißenbach, bought the bulk box and had it converted into apartments for the workers in his factory. The outbuildings became the property of the Styrian State Forests. Today the doctor's house is owned by the community of Weißenbach an der Enns. In 1896 the roof and parts of the upper floor burned down completely. Until the turn of the millennium, the former bulk box was inhabited as a residential building with eight residential units by former factory workers or their relatives; after that it was largely empty. In November 2018 it was canceled.

The former bulk box was a three-storey wall construction with a gable roof and a south-west oriented longitudinal axis. It was nine window axes long with a double window axis in the middle above the arched entrance portal and four window axes wide. Cross vaults were found on the ground floor, barrel vaults and groundwater drains in the cellar .
