The saddle cloth (of Turkish çaprak , Hungarian csábrák ) is a saddle blanket , in particular, on special occasions and of riding, is used. In the meantime, the saddlecloth is mostly preferred to the saddlecloth in everyday equestrian sport for optical and technical reasons.

In contrast to the normal saddlecloth, which is cut in the shape of the saddle , it has a rectangular shape that is usually longer than the saddle. This makes it possible to apply lettering that is not covered by the saddle, such as the rider's initials, the horse's name, the brand , the club or sponsor logo.

During trail rides, the additional surface offers the possibility of attaching bags or loops to store or fasten items of luggage without them chafing on the horse's back. A Woilach is also often used. The four to sixfold folded wool blanket has proven itself with all long-distance riders (cavalry, trail riders).

Historically, the saddlecloth, often expansive in size and with elongated ends tapering down on the horse's flanks , was used by the cavalry as a decoration over the woilach.
